We are installing the convertible car seat today and are trying to use the tether but it seems impossible to get the baby in the seat with it on. With a rear facing car seat in my car the tether has to go over the top of the car seat to the rear of the car making it difficult or impossible to get her in.
Do you use the tether?

Thanks for the replies! The people who said "NOOOO per the manual", it must differ by manufacturer. Ours specifically says:
"Rear facing installation can be improved with the use of the versa-tether strap."
The thether points in my car are behind the rear seat though, and I don't like how that works out. My DH used the strap included and created a tether point down behind the passenger front seat....seems much more secure now. Thanks!
We have the Boulevard, and we did ours the same way. I watched the video too, and I can tell a big difference when it is tethered down, she can bounce the back of the seat if it isn't. We have ours around the anchor of the front passenger seat.
Not true of Britax seats though.
Ah, we have the Triumph and after spending 15 minutes trying to figure out how to fasten the tether, I caught the note about it only being used FF. I felt rather silly.
