Anyone watch Ugly Betty? I have a question/observation

My question is.. over the course of the seasons, how much 'time' has actually passed?  I ask because Betty still has braces.  I thought people only needed braces for like 3 years or so, right?  (I wouldn't know, I never had them).  I know the show is totally unrealistic, but I was just thinking, when is she getting those things off??  lol I know it's silly...

This made me laugh because you sound just like my FI.  We can watch an entire movie and at the end he'll point out the most random fact and how it doesn't fit in with the storyline.  And of course every time I'm going...sh!t you're right.

Good point! I have no idea... I've actually lost track of the show this season and just deleted all of the shows without watching them. They were taking up too much space! But, yeah she should have those off by now. I think enough time has passed.

She has them in her high school flashbacks too.  She must have had some gnarly teeth to start out with!!

I noticed the braces thing too.  Also wondering why she only goes with the blue rubber bands and doesn't branch out to other colors.

No, it doesn't make sense for her to have them this long.  It's probably just supposed to be part of her character.  She'll always have them.

This entire post has me laughing! 

I watch the show and have noticed the braces thing but I think that is part of her character because it seperates her from the rest of the Mode crew.  In the Spanish version of the show she eventually gets them off and goes through a transformation as the series progresses.  ABC might have to move along with the progression since who knows how much longer it will stay on the air.
