Does deli meat (the kind from the counter) contain gluten?

My DD has a dairy and wheat allergy, so I've eliminated all of this from my diet as I am EBF. Well these past couple weeks her stool has been all messed up and I can't figure out why, I've been so good with the foods I've eaten. But I have had a ton of lunch meat, and just realized this may be the culprit. I feel awful. Have I been eating this and hurting her little tummy??

We are seeing the doctor today, but my gut tells me this is the problem. :( ?

  • A simple google search said:

I believe all of the Boars Head products are Gluten Free.
Some deli meats do contain gluten- things to look out for would be hydrolized vegetable protein, modified food starch, and other obvious ingredients such as wheat starch.
Some prepacked deli meats now feature "gluten free" on the label

  • Most products from Hormel and Di Lusso Deli Company don't contain gluten.  Di Lusso has a really good website that has all their product info, www.dilussodeli.com.
  • Gluten can be in some lunch meats but is not in all.  Here is a list of ingredients you need to watch out for.

I have been on a gluten free diet for over a year now.  There's gluten in a lot of places you would not expect such as some broths, yogurt, medicine, soy sauce, etc.  If you need any help with the GF (gluten free) diet, page me and I would be happy to try to help you.  It can be overwhelming at first, but it does get easier.
