Here are a few rules we in the recruiting world would like you to follow:
1) When we tell you we will review you qualifications and only CALL you if we think your qualified- we mean it- that's how our hiring process works. We don't have time to talk to 3948393849 people a day just to tell them they aren't qualified.
2) If you get a rejection e-mail from us- it means you're NOT qualified- please do not call back explaining you are perfect for the position- and just in case you didn't get it the first time- We rejected you for a reason, you are not perfect for the postion
3) Please do not call repeatedly, show up at our office, and border on the line of stalking- it will not show your interested in working for us- it will creep us out! No matter how many times you call us/e-mail us/ stop by.. we will tell you the same thing- we"ll call YOU if you're qualified- if you don't get a call you're not qualified
Does anyone find this hard to understand? Apparently some people around here do geez!!
K, thanks- had to get that off my chest.
Re: Just and FYI to those looking to be hired
Given the state of things right now, I can't say I blame people all that much
I'm sure it's annoying but consider where they are coming from..
Due to the fact that our economy is horrific, umm...can't blame 'em.
It's sad out there.
there are people that used to make a six figure income currently working for Starbucks and fighting for McDonald's jobs.
The economy is ruuuufff!
dotto. Everything I've read states you should follow up with a possible employer if you don't hear from them within a week or two. Thank goodness DH did this last week b/c the moron who was supposed to schedule his second interview forgot. You do what you have to do in order to stand out.
You guys must not understand what I wrote- contacting an employer to the point of stalking does not look good. If you follow up once or even twice- understandable- anymore than that, chances are you are not qualified.
With the state of the economy employers get hundreds of applicants looking for jobs- it's absolutely impossible to call each person back. In fact most companies don't even e-mail out rejection letters. We at least let people know they aren't qualified. I'm just trying to explain things from the employers stand point.
