I'm already alternately grateful and annoyed with the monitor. It was super to have it in the car on the way home ... and yet carrying it both out of the hosp. and out of the car when we're home was so irritating. (the strap isn't long enough to go crosswise across the body but the cord leading from him to the machine is long enough to trip on).
Also ... I've developed PUPPS and am completely miserable. Started taking Zyrtec based on my OB's suggestion today but holy heck am I itchy and crabby about it.
Here's Dash on the car ride home:

Happy coming home day! Now the real fun begins!!!
As for the monitor well... It's a love hate relationship and by the time he grows out of the A's & B's you'll be doing Rock/Paper/Scisors with your hubby to see who has to get up to turn the darn thing off after yet ANOTHER false alarm.

I know this will sound weird but I miss the monitor. ?It truly was the only reason I actually slept, knowing if he stopped breathing it would go batshitcrazy. ?
?
So happy to hear Dash is home...where he belongs ?
Welcome home Dash!
The monitor allowed me to sleep at night. I liked it at first. Then when it stopped going off except for an obvious false alarm (it would say she wasn't breathing when we'd be playing with her watching her breathe), or when we had to get two replacements due to battery issues, that it started to drive me nuts.
It will be off before you know it!
I hated the monitor too! Ours had to end up being downloaded every week and 1/2 too....it turned out to be pretty costly! Our part of the bill for a month was $500!
You will find that it goes off more on false alarms and one thing I didn't do was move my baby around because of being "plugged in"...if I would have known better I would have let him sit in the bouncy chair in the kitchen and just carried the monitor and not worried that the battery would die etc. It was pretty restricting for me. Try to do normal activities and enjoy your baby...I was a worrywort!
One thing you can do with the long cord it when we carried it we would wind it up and tuck it in our pants to carry it so we wouldn't trip over it.
Welcome Home Dash!
