For the 2nd night in a row the poor child could not sleep because her body was racked w/ a dry hacking cough. It's like every time she inhaled it irritated her throat and she just coughed and coughed. A really dry hoarse cough.
I gave her some Delsym (per the ped's office), some honey and ran a cool mist humidifier in her room, but that didn't seem to help. I'm desperate!
Any ideas?

And I think MrsErickson posted recently about a trick with jello - I can't remember the exact recipe but I'm sure she'll post here
I tried this trick and it did not seem to help DS, but some people swear by it. I have put it on his chest a couple of times and it seemed to help a little, but not that much with the dry hacking cough.
Caroline had a sinus infection earlier this winter. I have a call into her ped's office right now...just waiting to hear back. I'll see if they want me to bring her in. I was talking to my OBGYN this morning about it and she mentioned the word "asthma". I was like,
I have no idea why it works. I will admit I was skeptical, too and I didn't try it for a long time. I had heard from several people (whom I trust) that it worked, so I finally tried it recently. It didn't seem to help much the first night, but I did notice a difference the second night.
