Gas

DS is 2 weeks old and all of a sudden he is crying and fussing alot.  I believe he has gas because he pulls up his legs and turns red.  I have been giving him Mylocin drops before feedings.  Is it possible he does not like the bottles or formula we are using?  I am not sure if it would have taken this long for him to decide he doesn't like Dr. Brown's bottles or Similac formula.  Any advice?

Re: Gas

  • I could have written this myself!! DD started getting very fussy and turned red and pulled up her legs about 5 days ago. We are using the Mylicon drops and the doctors office suggested doing bicycle exercises with her legs, holding her more upright when we feed her (she would eat so fast!!! She was chugging it!!) I also try and burp her more often during each feeding. GL!!! DD seems to be getting a little better each day!

  • DS does eat super fast!  Maybe that could be the problem!  How often do you give the Mylocin drops??  I am afraid of giving them to often.  Do you give them with the f eedings or beforehand?
  • I can totally relate to your post. My little guy was about 3 weeks we he starting just screaming for two hours start every time it was feeding time and especially at night. He was have really bad gas, I asked his pedi about it he had us change his formula to the enfamil soy and he has been a totally different and happier baby since. I took about 3 days of the new formula to be completely better. Good luck.
