Minnesota Nice

Hi Ladies,

I am new to posting and blogging and I?ve realized that I enjoy Minnesota Nice.  I?ve gotten some not so polite responses to some posts and so I am hoping I can ask some questions to this community group because I have a feeling the responses might be more thorough and helpful.

So? Here it goes?

How many HPTs did you take before you got a positive and at how many dpo?

I?m currently 17dpo (no I do not keep a comprehensive chart but I have very consistent AF) and I am still having BFN tests every other day.  At this point I don?t want to chart yet because I think about all of this way too much the way it is I don?t want to add that yet.

I feel like I am having symptoms as well that I don?t normally have with AF?but then I think it could all be in my head too.  All of the girls said ?you?re not PG?, ?you need to chart?, blah blah blah. I did research online and it says getting negative HPT is fairly common.

Thank you for listening to me rant a little bit.

Genuinely curious! What is your story?

Re: Minnesota Nice

  • I got my first BFP at 8 dpo - very light on an internet cheapie test and then the morning of 9 dpo I confirmed it with a digital.

I would highly recommend charting, though.  At least so you can be certain you are ovulating and about when so you can narrow down your timing.  If I hadn't been charting I would never have known I O'd so late and then not all for 2 months.  The longer I was off BCP's - the later and later I O'd.  Not sure why, never found out because after I was put on progesterone to induce AF, I got pregnant the following cycle. :)

I can also understand why you wouldn't if you are pretty regular - it can be stressful and so easy to get obsessed!

Good luck to you on getting your BFP soon!

  • I think most HPT will say 18 dpo is 99% accurate. You could get a first response HPT and try that, or wait til AF is late. If you still don't get AF and are having pg symptoms, a doc can run a blood test. Good luck! :)
