Babies: 0 - 3 Months

***strimble26***

I feel your pain! I had something very similar happen to me at 6 weeks pp. Things didn't grow back together they way they were supposed to (aka "protruding flesh" in my OB's words) and she also used the liquid silver nitrate. Only that she didn't tell me what it was. She just said it was "medicine" to make it better and I had NO idea! I also didn't get a local anesthetic. I almost jumped off the table!!!

Anyway, she ALSO prescribed me estrogen cream for the same reason you were given yours. All I can say is be careful with that because my milk supply went down because of it.And I only took it 5 times. I then took fenugreek and ended up with an oversupply and it was just a big mess. It took a while for things to even out again.

Good luck, I hope you feel much better soon! For what it's worth, the whole procedure DID help me heal entirely and brought a lot of relief (after the pain from the cauterizing went away).

  • Oh I am so sorry you had to go through this too.  I think the reason it is so sore is because it has been 5 months of that skin growing so it was very thick and tough.  Gross huh??  I am just glad they found the problem.  And thank you for the advice.  I am actually not even going to use that estrogen cream.  I think that now that that skin is out of the way, the main issue will be solved.  My supply is perfect and I don't want to do anything to mess with it.

  • Good for you! I am not sure why OBs are so quick to prescribe that to BF moms. Oh well.
