Baby Names

Bella

Was on my list for years.

Thanks to the Twilight series...we'll be passing on the name.

I can't imagine how many Bellas there will be in the years to come!

Anyone have friends that have named their baby girl Bella recently?

Thanks Stephanie Meyer! ?

?

Re: Bella

  • Is it just going to be Bella or is it going to be Isabella or Anabella?? Areabella??

Bella is pretty... my cousin is Anabelle and we call her Bella and Anabellie... I wouldn't worry about the Twilight Series and I do not think it is tremendously popular yet....

  • I don't think you should let that stop you if you love the name. I think it's so pretty as a nn for Anabella and Mirabella.

  • I love the name, does it go w/your last name?  It isn't too common from what I've seen.

(BTW I know where you were married in LA at Wink there is a small minority of us here but there are a few.)

  • Honestly, Bella/Belle has been popular for years now. I can't tell you how many people I know that named their dd some form of it when I was pregnant and in the three years since. It's a pretty name. If you like it use it.

I agree.  It seems like it's been popular for a long time.

  • As a teacher I can tell you that even before that damn book there were thousands of Bellas and Isabellas. I'm over it.

  • One of DC's doctors has a daughter named Isabella and they call her Bella and then I have a friend who just had a daughter Isabella and they also call her Bella.  It's a beautiful name (no pun intended) but so popular.  DH really likes the name Isabella but we probably won't use it because it's so popular.

Are you Mormon? I've seen that tree in many of my cousin's wedding photos. I'm not Mormon, but a majority of my extended family is. We are going to my cousins daughter's baptism in Simi Valley on Saturday. I've never been to a Mormon baptism before. I'm a protestant Christian.

  • I hear people tossing around the name Bella, but I don't know anyone who has actually used it (at least not in my area or among my friends). If you've liked it for so long, I say go for it.
  • I have a friend who named their baby Bella and know of several Isabella's who are called Bella.

Bella is NMS... to prissy/princess like.

  • This name has been on our list ever since we had DS.  We are still seriously considering using it but were not sure if we want to use Isabella or just Bella  yet.
  • Unfortunately that's literally the one girl name out there right now.  My DH's cousin just named her little girl Bella and I feel like there are a million Ellas, Isabelle/a, etc everywhere!  I really liked the name Elle for a girl but we are destined to have boys apparently :o)

my sister in law said something about liking the name Annabelle the other day (she's around 10 weeks) and all I could think of was a cow... oops.

  • Bella is so overdone.
  • My Cousins Dog is named Bella, I forgot about that and called my mom up and said i like the name Bella what do you think? and she said well im sure your cousin will be honored that your naming your daughter after her dog, haha. =)
  • Like PP, we know a dog named Bella. My daughter is Isabela, and Dh and I dislike Izzie amd Bela.  I guess we'll go with Ela or Ele, but right now we just call her Tiny!

Yes I am! That's awesome - baptisms are my favorite. So happy :)?
