Hey, does anyone know a cheap but nice hotel in Atlanta? My DH has to take someone to the airport and pick them up the next day so we were just thinking about spending the night but don't want to spend alot. TIA!

Re: NBR: Anybody from Atlanta?
Where do you want to stay- Near the airport? Downtown? Also, what's your price range? There are some nice hotels that we've been to but, yeah, a bit pricey.

Well, I don't really know anything about Atlanta, so I guess just a less crowded, safe part of town? Are there any cities that surround Atlanta that are close but cheaper?
Ok- I will be honest. I have no suggestions for under $100. Not that you can't find it though! Sometimes we spend a night in the city if we are going to be out at an event or party (and drinking) and don't want to drive home (we're 25 mins outside of Atlanta) but it usually costs between $150 and $200. Maybe try tripadvisor?

It really depends where in Atlanta he has to go for business. DH and I were suprised when we moved here that ATL is NOT like other cities...there isn't simply a downtown area you can stay in a hotel in, and get around to the popular places in ATL. THere is downtown (lots of businesses, not a lot to do other than aquarium); midtown (more trendy, stuff to do); and Buckhead. I know when DH travelled here for business he stayed in buckhead all the time. There's some great hotels there and walking distance to mall/restaurants/etc.
So, I guess the question is...where does he have to go for work?
He's a youth pastor, and our pastor asked him if he would take him to the airport Friday (not this Fri) and pick him up Saturday. So it doesn't really matter what part of town we stay in ( I don't guess)
Oh gotcha...so he doesn't actually have business to do in atlanta (like find an office building). Downtown has a few nice places and close to the aquarium and wold of coke if you would be up for doing something like that. Other than that, I don't like downtown, not much to do there.
If you are looking for more things to do around your hotel I would recommend looking in buckhead...closer to shopping and restaurants. You can also easily drive to midtown from there and visit the museum, the king tut exhibit, or try to score some tickets to the symphony (they are suprisingly cheap!)
