2nd Trimester

Must have for baby

Before DH and I register this weekend I wanted to see what you ladies suggest as a "Must Have." With so many choices and so many things that I want it is going to be so hard. I go nuts when I look at car seats.LOL.

Thanks.

Re: Must have for baby

  • I love your bottom siggy pic. Too cute. :)

I've heard that people swear by the vibrating bouncy seats because they put baby to sleep just like riding in the car.

People seem to really like the insta-swaddle type blankets too.

I'd ask this on 0-6, they'll probably have a lot more ideas.

  • I've had a lot of people recommend registering for a couple packs of gerber prefold cloth diapers to use a burp cloths and we travel a lot so a good pack and play and stroller/car seat were on our list of must haves. Try posting this on 0-6 mos. since they'll probably have a good idea of what they used the most at first. Have fun registering!
  • I registered for a glider/ottoman b/c we really don't have a 'good' chair to b/f in.  I wasn't expecting someone to get it for us but if it's on the registry we get like 10% off to complete it later.
  • my must haves are a vibrating bouncy seat, swing, and pacifiers!!!  They all work wonders! :)

The book Baby Bargains should help you narrow down your choices for a lot of things.  Car seat, diapers, burp cloths (cloth diapers are the best for this), Lanisoh breast cream if BFing, vibrating bouncey seat, receiving blankets (DD didn't like having her arms swaddled so the swaddle mes were a waste for us), butt paste, wipes.

  • Ditto on the breast pads and the bouncy seat.  I hated the bjorn, but DD was in the hotsling from 4 weeks to 14 months.  The only reason I stopped was b/c it hurt my pg belly to have her in it.  I didn't get a travel system b/c many of my friends complained that their LOs preferred the umbrella strollers. I had a snapngo for the first few weeks, but found I was much happier with her in the sling.  Make sure you have gas drops/Mylicon and butt paste/.

  • I haven't seen you around in awhile. Nice to have you back!

Must haves that I've been told:

Burp clothes, pacifiers, breast pads, those gel breast pads if you can find them (stick them in the freezer, so I've been told), Pack-n-Play (we're going to put it in our room for the first few months instead of getting a bassinet)

    Thats all for now. HTH!
