Completely stumped on cribs...

Hi all, I am absolutely stumped on a crib.  I'm looking for something under ~$400.  I like simple looking cribs, or modern (though these are usually expensive).  What I don't like is when the back of the crib is taller than the front of the crib (such as here).  I also don't like sleigh cribs.  I just like plain, basic cribs. It doesn't need to be convertible.

Examples of cribs I like the look of are:

 Baby Miro Modo

Baby Miro Mercer

Sorelle Rosa

Jenny Lind

I found several Davanci cribs I like, but then read bad reviews about them in Baby Bargains.  I also found a Bonavita I like but can't find any info. about them.  Can anyone recommend something?

thanks in advance!

Re: Completely stumped on cribs...

  • I am not a fan of sleigh cribs or cribs where the back is taller than the front either. ?I have heard great things about the Land of Nod cribs, but my favorite is a style you mentioned, the Jenny Lind. Good luck!

I also LOVE the first two you posted. Very modern without the usual price tag.?

  • I second the Ikea recommendation. A friend of mine has the Leksvik and loves it.

  • Bonavita and their under-companies (like Babi Italia at BRU) got good reviews in Baby Bargains, and I'm pretty sure the basic ones are <$400.?

  • I really like the first 2 ones you have linked!  The last 2 are nice, but I don't like them as much.

  • We bought the baby miro modo. Actually we just received it yesterday and put it together last night. It didn't seem to take DH long at all to put it together. I love it! It is very modern/contemporary, all 4 sides are of equal height and it seems to be great quality. I highly reccommend it for the price and quality. I could not find a crib that was modern with clean lines for less money. Plus I love the espresso color.

  • I was planning to purchase the Ocean series crib by Baby's Dream, which was quoted to me for $429 at a local specialty baby store.  It is a 3 in 1, converts to twin bed.  We currently have another crib by this same company that we purchased for our first child, and I love it.  It is very sturdy, easy to put together/take apart, and once you get used to the side you will love it.  Since my DS has shown interest in having the guest bed in his room, we decided against buying another, so I won't get the Ocean crib.  But I was fully prepared to buy another crib from this manufacturer.  Good luck in whatever you decide!

  • We have the Sweet Pea Tahoe crib on JCPenney.com - it is simple-looking but great quality, and was only $159.  It is convertible though.

  • I vote Jenny Lind! Check out craigslist!!
