When having the NT scan....

Did they want you to have a full bladder?

Re: When having the NT scan....

  • Where I had it, they did not require a full bladder?however, the office advised that I not empty my bladder before the scan. In other words, eat and drink normally but don't pee before the test.

They actually had me empty my bladder after a few minutes when they weren't getting the best measurements. I was told that sometimes peeing makes the baby move?and it did.

I'd call the office/facility where you're having yours and ask what their procedure is.

  • Yes, but then the Dr. had me go pee anyway, he was poking away on top of my bladder trying to get baby to move and I thought I was going to pee on the table!

My office did.  Varies by office so best to call if you have questions.
