Does Clomid work??

I am going to start Clomid 50mg next cycle. Has anyone heard of it working? There are many posts here of people taking it - have not heard that it actually works.

Is there any hope with Clomid??

Well...yeah it works...otherwise doctors wouldn't be prescribing it.  Remember that if it doesn't work, we're more likely to stay here on this forum.  So I wouldn't necessarily base your results on the stuff you find here.  Maybe you might want to ask this question on Success after IF?

Clomid is used to bring you back to the "normal" threshold of conception averages.  A couple with no identified issues has a 20% chance each month of conceiving.  If either partner has a fertility issue, those chances are less.

Provided your husband has no sperm issues, and that you've been checked to ensure that your tubes are open, Clomid is meant to bring you back to the 20% mark.  It will work if it makes you ovulate, (which doesn't, unfortunately, guarantee a pregnancy).  Usually, doctors prescribe Clomid along with a plan to monitor how effective it is for you.

Of course it works, or it wouldn't be prescribed. The question will be if it works for YOU. Some people respond to it well, others not so much.

My sister got pregnant with clomid. It took her 2 tries, but she has 6 year old twins from it. You will not hear many success stories here, but if you post this on success after infertility I am sure you will see some!
