Behavior after MMR vaccine...

DS got his MMR last week and the Pedi told us that the effects of it don't happen until a week later.  Well last night DS was super fussy and wouldn't really eat, and then he was fussy again this morning (he's NEVER cranky in the morning).  Could this be from the vaccine?  What did you have with your kids after the MMR?  TIA!

  • A fever of 102.0 and a little fussy not bad really.  and this was 9 days after MMR.   it can happen anywhere from 7 -12 days later.

  • Aw shoot, really? DD gets hers next week and we leave 2 days later to move overseas. ?Poor thing, I hope she doesn't have a bad reaction, she'll be already adjusting to a 7 hour time change and completely new climate. ?I need to do some reading ASAP.

  • Could be. My ds was cranky for about a week after he got it.  My pedi said that kids at 1 year old can react differently to shots in general than they did at 6 months olds. They notice any soreness more because they are mobile now and they also are more aware of what is going on and can kind of get their feelings hurt.  I don't think it would take a week for hurt feelings to show up, but maybe the sorness thing would apply. My pedi suggested to lightly massage where the shot was.
