What's the best mattress?

Can anyone give me suggestions on what type of mattress to use? I don't want to get anything too soft and comfy.

I have the Simmons Back to beautyrest mattress that has 232 coils.  It had good reviews in the baby bargain book and I am happy with the quality of it.

Naturepedic is supposed to be really great (if you're looking for one without all the chemicals and crap).

we are going with the colgate classica 1 - reasonable pricing and high ratings......

We went with a Colgate.  Can't remember the model...but it is foam (much lighter than inner spring)

We went with the Naturpedic also.  It is more expensive, but we had a one hour consult at this baby boutique with people who really know the industry, and they gave us a rundown of the mattresses out there.  We got an organic one and we wont have to worry about dust mites or anything-which is major for me bc that grosses me out!  it is double sided, so it is more firm on one side for an infant, but then softer on the other side for the toddler bed.  25 yr guarantee-anything happens-they replace it.  So, it was well worth the extra money for us.
