Pee accidents on carpet - best way to clean?

How/what do you use  to clean up pee accidents from the carpet?  Our carpet is super old, so not so concerned about the carpet itself, but don't want it to have disgusting germs in it from the pee!!

My baby pees occasionally when his diaper is off, and I usually just use a baby wipe. ?Pee is sterile, and it never stains (beige carpet) ?But maybe I am disgusting.

blot as much of the pee as you can with a towel....then use a spray cleaner ...I use Mr. Clean with febreeze...and then blot that up.

We have a little steam cleaner that I use for DS and the dog's accidents.

blot, sprinkle baking soda until it stays dry on top, vacuum in an hour

I use carpet spot cleaner for cars.  Spray, rub it in & let it dry.

I use cleaner I found in the pet isle to neutralize the odor from pet accidents.
