target return policy

does anyone know about returning things to Target, if you don't have the receipt, but the item was on your registry? MIL bought our crib from there, and it doesn't quite fit together right, so I want to take it back. Do you know if they can return it because she bought it off the registry, or should I just try to tactfully get the receipt from her? I have heard that their return policies are very strict. TIA!

    They will take it as long as it is on the registry. However, you can only get store credit in the same department it was purchased in.

    Since it's on your registry (if it is marked as purchased), you should be able to return it without a receipt.  But if you have problems, I know you can return 2 items a year without a receipt -- you have to give them your driver's license as identification (that's how they keep track of your 2 returns per year).

    i'd call the store to make sure but i'm pretty sure, if it's on the registry you can return it without a receipt...

    Because my gift was shipped to my house they were able to pull the "gift receipt" using the tracking number.  It was pretty easy.
