Baby Names

bad, bad names.....

Today I met an Abra...

a Norma (which isn't horrible but just unheard of these days) and her sister

Normeisha Indifferent

When I introduced Abra to her consultant, the consultant automatically said "Abra?" as in Abracadabra?

Eeekk.  Can you imagine a lifetime of that?  Makes me thankful for Erica!!

  • Wow... I read Abra as Ay-bra, like the beginning of Abraham.  Aa-bra, like Abracadabra might be one of the very worst names I've heard.

  • Hahaha! I immediately thought of Abracadabra when you said Abra. Those are three of the worst names I've seen in a while.
  • ugh....yuck to all of those names.
  • those are awful, and just mean!
  • Abra wasn't short for something? As far as I know it's not a legitimate name. I think if my name were Norma, I'd go by my middle name, but it's not horrible.

    Normeisha?

  • Abra (prounounced like Ay-brah) is a Hebrew name and I actually know two Abras.  It's basically the female version of Abraham.  It's not my favorite name, but I don't see anything wrong with it.

    Normeisha is ridic.

  • My grandmother's name was Norma. I never ever liked it and was always glad I could call her "Grandma" insteadWink
  • Abra is ugly, yes, but a real name.

It's the name of the girl in "East of Eden" by John Steinbeck. I have got no idea what it means but it's been around for awhile.

    Ick.

But Normeisha is so much worse.

This girl's name was Abra. Not pronounced Ay-brah. I know because she introduced herself to me, and when the consultant commented about abracadabra..... she said " Yes, like that".
