Hey, can you tell me more about your crib mattress?  Saw your post earlier about it.  We got a Serta Organic today from BRU but when I got it home, realized it's just made with organic cotton fill so I am returning it.  Is your mattress firm but soft?

hmm, we took it out of the box for a second to inspect and then put it right back in!  we don't have our crib yet.  it seemed just like a normal mattress I guess... didn't smell at all which was nice!

we chose this one over the naturpedic b/c it doesn't use any chemicals for fire retardancy.  naturepedic has this "flamebraker" stuff - which i agree seems harmless, but i prefer just to have the wool.  also, the naturpedic one has a polythylene cover on it.  seemed silly to me to pay for expensive organic and then cover it in plastic.  of course, we need to get a wool cover of sorts for it to protect it now, but I'd rather do that.  I'm planning to use an army blanket for that purpose.
