XP: Jogging Strollers

Sorry to bug you with a recommendation post...but I need recommendations for an inexpensive jogging stroller travel system (around $250-ish).  Since this will be a June baby, I'm mostly going to be using the stroller in the summer...and want something I can use early on.  We want a jogger, but we want a good car seat.  We can't seem to find any jogging travel systems that have good feedback on the car seats (either too heavy, sit too upright, too hard).  So with that, we are now looking to see if any can hold a young infant instead of snapping the car seat in if possible....If it has to snap, can anyone recommend a jogger and a car seat that go well together (color wise).  I see there are car seat adapters for some.

Thanks

  • Do you actually want a jogging stroller or an all terrain stroller? I've heard the best one is the BOB, but it is a bit pricier then you wanted. ($300-389 depending on the model) You can also buy an adapter to put a carseat in. LO has to be 8 weeks to ride in it without the adapter. Most joggers are that way.

I have heard that the Jeep strollers are good, but not quite as durable.

My friend bought the baby trend travel system and it fell apart after 9 months and had a really rough ride.?

Since you can't jog with a baby for 6 months or so, you might want to buy a snap and go or lightweight stroller, then choose a jogger baby fits well in.?

  • You won't be jogging with your June baby until at least December, so get a good infant seat and look for a jogger later.

    ?

  • I'm not planning on jogging at all lol  I prefer the wheels on it for where we will be going, dirt roads, gravel, possibly the beach.  I guess I should have mentioned that.  I would wait to get the jogger if I could use just the light weight stroller in the beginning...but my in-laws want to get us the stroller/car seat for our shower present.

I looked into the Jeep one at BRU and I also looked at the Baby Trend one at both Walmart and Target.  Hmm..

    Thanks for the suggestions.

  • We have the BOB, and LOVE it. It's usually close to $400, but I got ours for $250 from a bike shop that was switching over to winter gear. You can also find a lot of different joggers on craigslist which is a great buy usually. With the BOB and some others, you can get a car seat adapter. But keep in mind you can't jog right away, I believe before you jog, LO has to be 6 months but I havent' asked my Pedi that yet.

  • I am not a jogger but we have a BOB Revolution and I absolutely love it. I use it for walks, the park and pretty much anything we do outdoors. (I have a smaller stroller I use for running errands and shopping.) I plan on taking BOB to the beach this summer too.

I put my baby directly in BOB when she was 8 weeks old. You can buy a carseat adapter and I think there are many different carseats that fit. I've never used the stroller as a travel system so I wouldn't be able to tell you much more about that...

I got my stroller 20% off at a local baby store. The original price was around $389 I think... It's worth the money considering the fact that it's going to get a lot of use and it's a really solid stroller that looks like it can take a beating.
