The agency we are considering held an info session in Denver today, so DH and I took advantage of it. We got a ton of great information. Essentially, if we started the process today, we could have a baby boy home in 8-10 months. We could have a baby girl home in 18-24 months. After hearing that, we know we will not be submitting a formal application until late this year. I do not want 2 under 2 (2 under 3 would be ok though ).
I asked the million dollar question about Korea: Is it true that Korea plans to stop intl adoption by 2012? The coordinator we met with said that is a rumor. Although that's what the Korean government wants to do, they likely will not be able to. He said that the number of referrals to the U.S. from Korea is decreasing though. He also said that Korea is working to become Hague accredited by late 2009 / early 2010.
I just wanted to pass along that info, since this subject has come up several times on this board.

Re: Back from first Korea info session
Great news!!! Just going to the meeting feels like such a huge step in the process.
I don't understand why that agency has a much shorter wait period than ours. Grrrrr.
