Stripping with an HE washer?

So I finally figured out what ammonia smells like! DS was wearing a BumGenious OS and all of a sudden I smelled something terrible. I sniffed DH and almost puked from the strong chemical like smell! Ughhhh! So I think it's time I learn to strip.

I have an LG front loader (Model WM0642HW) and I normally use the sanitary cycle which does a prewash, a stain cycle, an extra rinse, and a rinse+ spin. Normally I put 1 Tbsp of crunchy clean in the main wash slot, and about 1/4 cup distilled vinegar in the fabric softner slot.

So to strip, do I just add 1 Tbsp to the pre-wash slot and some baking soda to the same slot (as in they'll be mixed together), and I'm good to go?

I would do the Dawn in the pre-wash and the baking soda in the main wash slot. Then just as many hot rinses as it takes for no bubbles. You might be done after your cycle goes through, as it looks like that is a fair amount of rinsing, but you might have to go again.?

    Good luck!?
