Medicine for hives that won't knock me out?

I'm a mess today but I don't want to take Benadryl or I'll turn into ZombieMom.  What else can I take?

When I had hives a fgew years ago, the dermatologist gave me a prescription for Claritin.  That was before it was OTC.  Maybe you could try some of that?  Or topical hydrocortisone in  the anti-itch formula?  Also--I think there is a benadryl spray that might give you some relief.
