Adoption

Where to start with adoption?

Hi.  I'm new to this board.  We are talking about our options and have thought of adoption.  I'm adopted as well and the agency where I was adopted from is no longer accepting applications to get children from Korea.  Where do I start if I wanted information for international adoption and possibly domestic?  We're in the early stages of discussing this option.  We're located in Philadelphia, PA.

If anyone has any recommendations, it would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Re: Where to start with adoption?

  • www.adoptpakids.org is a good place to start. It is intended for the Foster/Adopt parents, but has a list of agencies in Pennsylvania.  A lot of agencies do Foster/Adopt, IA and DA.   The list is not comprehensive, but is a manageable beginning. That's where I started and found my agency.

Good luck with starting your journey!
