Target Baby Registry

Just wondering if anyone registered at Target and what your experiences were. ?I noticed they carry the entire "gear" collection that I like at $10-15 cheaper per piece than BRU. ?I may end up registering at both if one or the other doesn't have everything we're looking for.

?Thanks!?

Re: Target Baby Registry

  • I registerred at Target. The only thing I don't like is that not everything has a picture on the actual registry and the name that they give things doesn't always make sense to someone who doesn't know about baby related stuff. Sometimes when I stalk my registry i'm like "wait.. what was that?" lol It can get confusing but I thought they had a good variety of things at good prices.

  • I only registered at BRU because they had everything I was looking for - but I told friends and family to just take the list and shop elsewhere because everything can be found other places for WAY cheaper.
  • I am registered there and at BRU as well. In our 1st shower, A LOT of people bought stuff from the Target registery  rather than the BRU one. It is cheper and you can find quite a bit of stuff there as well.

Are you talking about using the online registry?? My target never seems to have anything in the store, which is why I never considered doing it there.? Is there a lot of stuff online?

?I've only looked online so far, but nothing I was looking at had the "online only" thing next to it. ?I've seen that much more often at BRU online.?

  • i am planning on registering at Target...there is no BRU back home and that is where my shower will be...I may also register at JCP if i choose a bedding from there...

  • I haven't done the baby registry yet but I know with our bridal registry, we had several items bought twice and everyone said it still said on the registry that no one had bought. I also noticed that, for a shower that I'm invited to tomorrow, not one single item on their registry is marked as bought and they have 2 pages worth of stuff. I've heard other people have problems with this too and the return policy is a bit funny.

I'd like to hear other opinions though as we'll be starting our registry soon and I've always liked Target.

  • I'm only registering at BRU. Target is a little closer but their return policy is horrendous and I don't want to have to deal with that.

  • I think Target has recently updated their return policy. When we got married (this past June) we were able to return anything bought off our registry with our without a receipt. You can print out a page in the store that confirms all of the items bought off the registry and that serves as your receipt.

If someone buys you something NOT on your registry and you dont have a receipt, I believe you have to show your license & you are limited to a certain number of those returns per year (not sure on the number. One maybe?)

  • Really? ?How so? ?I haven't registered yet, but I was planning on doing target and amazon.com - I was avoiding BRU because I heard they are the ones with the crummy return policy - but again, I havent looked into things closely yet, this is what I've heard second hand.

  • I registered at Target for my wedding.  I didn't have any troubles with the registry or returns. As long as it was marked on the registry that someone bought it - I could return it.

I am also registering there for baby.  When you look at items you like check to see if they are available only online or if you will be able to find them in a store near where your shower is or your family is.  That is what I am doing because most of my family will not buy anything online.

  • A warning.... Target's return policy is not that great. If you get a duplicate gift, be prepared to ask the gift giver for a receipt - which expire in 90 days usually. Otherwise, you may not even be able to get in store credit. They only allow two returns per year without a receipt up to the amount of $35 per item. I got some sheets as a gift valued at $80 and wanted to exchange them for a different color. They couldn't do it. I couldn't even use my two free returns without a receipt to get a $70 in store credit.

When did this happen? Because I got 2 duplicate gifts and was able to return them both for store credit, without the receipt. (Using the registry log). My wedding was in June.

  • target is also notorious for not marking gifts off the registry.  I registered there for my wedding and it was a huge pain for returns and for updating the registry.  I no longer even shop there due to their policies.  If people buy me stuff there, fine, but I won't be registering there.
