baby showers?

I'm just curious..for those of you on bedrest like me, are you having a baby shower before the baby is born? Or are you waiting until after the baby's here?

I think our plan is to have a small shower just for family before the baby (at my house since I can't go anywhere) and then once the baby is a month or so, have the larger shower that we'd hoped for.

We haven't registered yet..I'm thinking we should in the next couple of weeks!?

My parents had already planned my shower before I went on BR.

I had told my fetal specialist about it and she said as long as I have no more bleeding she sees no reason why it can't go on as planned as long as I sit through most of it.

Worse case, it will be moved to my place in an open house kind of thing.

For us a shower had been planned and people bought tickets to fly out already so they are going to all go out to eat and have their own party. My house is too small for them to all fit.  Some will come by to visit after. But my shower is in 2 weeks and I was put on bedrest yesterday.

They moved the shower to my house and made it a little smaller then originally planned.  It was really nice to have the company.  I had a great time.

i am from MI but live in KY, so i actually had my MI baby showers (one for family, one for friends) the week before i got put on bedrest!

my MIL in KY is planning a shower for me around the end of march, but depending on my health status we'll do it somewhere i can be comfortably seated the whole time or keep it small enough to do at my house! if things between now and then and we can't have one, i think we'll just plan on the larger one after the babies are born like you!

We're not having one period. We don't want anything in the house before we have the baby, and I would feel weird having one after the baby came (plus I find showers upsetting generally since we had to cancel the one planned for our twins when they passed a week and half before it). I'm not registering, except that I will keep a list of stuff I'll need under a fake name so I get the registry discount for when I buy everything myself after baby comes (assuming we don't lose this one).

Our families had planned our shower for 29 weeks, and I ended up going on BR at 25 weeks.  I asked my dr. if it was ok for me to go, they said yes as long as I promised to stay sitting down and to go home if I started to contract.  It was last weekend, and everything went ok.  It was definitely a very exhausting day, just being up and out for more hours than I had been in about a month.  If I wasn't going to be able to go, my  husband was going to go and open the gifts on his own.
