Had NT scan today and I'm freaking out!!!

I went in today for an NT scan mostly because I wanted to find out the genders. I'm 25 and have no family history of birth defects. So doc tells me that they are identical girls!! I'm excited about that but then came the bad news. They said the thickness of the back of the neck for baby A was 3.56 and it should be no more than 3. Because of this there is a chance of down syndrome or a heart defect. They also said they can see I'm having contractions. So I'm back at 16 weeks for further testing and they took my blood to see how that comes up.

 

So have any of you had this and everything turned out ok?

NT scans for multiples can be off on measurements.

Our friends who had identical twins had this with one of their babies...the blood test proved him to be fine....typically BOTH ID's would have it, so if one is fine the other SHOULD be fine (but not a guarantee)..I wouldn't worry too much yet...did they down play the fact that you are already having contractions? Are you on bedrest or what are they doing to help manage those?

They really down played the contractions. He just said to stay hydrated and we'll see were my cervix is at when I'm 16 weeks. Then I see him every 2 weeks until 24 weeks or more depending on all these test results. I get the blood test results back in 8 days so I'm hoping everything will be fine at that point.

All i know it my dr said that NT scan results for multiples can be way off.  If they're identical, I would think the other would show something too - and since she doesn't, that could be good news.  Good luck and try not to stress!
