List a meal that is in your weekly rotation.

I need something new to add to mine.

My weekly rotation meal are chicken breasts coated in olive oil with Italian seasoning sprinkled on both sides.  Bake for 30 mins at 3:50.  I then do a side of brown rice and a vegetable.  Or sometimes fries or tater tots with a vegetable.

  • Usually chili

  • Every Tuesday is sandwich day for us.  I like to buy the take and bake cibatta bread from the grocery, bake it, butter the inside with garlic butter, and then put in turkey, cheese, and bacon that I've warmed on the stove.  It is so good.
  • Some type of pasta. My favorite lately is to roast a bunch of cherry tomatoes (toss with olive oil and put in 400 degree oven for about 20 minutes) and toss them with spaghetti, fresh basil, and a couple spoonfuls of ricotta cheese. Another pasta dish I make a lot is penne pasta with arugula, steak strips, and a balsamic/oil/fresh herb dressing.
  • My go to meals are...

    spaghetti

    Chili

    Tacos

    or Taco Salad...

I have lots of easy and quick meals in my recipe blog...

  • We have chicken spoon tacos at least once a week.  Ground chicken and all the other fixings for tacos except that instead of shells we pile it all up on tortilla chips.  If we need a little something different we do it with doritos instead.
  • Oh and I forgot risotto. We have that once a week as a side or main dish. I just add whatever extra veggies or leftover meat/seafood we have from the week into it.
  • Spaghetti with Italian sausage and whole wheat pasta.

  • chickpea curry

tsp each of cinnamon, cardamom, cumin and curry powder (ok 2 of curry powder) to coat onion wedges and garlic in the pan. Then add capsicum and whatever else like carrot or celery. Then add a drained can of chickpeas and mix it up. Then add a can of coconut milk. Bring to the boil then simmer for 5 mins. Add florets of broccoli and simmer another 5-7 mins. Add a scoop of mango chutney and a squirt of lemon juice. Serve with basmati rice and a naan or pappadums.

One of my DHs favourite meals, but we don't put chilies in it anymore for DS's sake so he is ok with only having it every 2 weeks or so :-)

btw capsicums = bell peppers :-)?

  • Tacos - everyone loves tacos these days

and potato soup - another favorite for everyone including the girls

  • I do homemade pizza every Tuesday. I either put ham and pineapple on it or sausage, onion and mushroom. It is super easy and good.

  • in the winter it's gumbo (Emeril Lagasse recipe) with a side of french bread

in the summer it's salmon burgers (License To Grill tv show recipe) with a side of pasta salad or regular caesar salad

  • I was just thinking about posting this, too=)

I am a terribly uninventive cook. I don't really enjoy the prep-work of cooking, which deters me away from a lot of recipes. I need to get better, though, because we eat out far too often and eat too many prepared meals.

One meal my kids and husband both like(everyone is really picky, which makes it even harder!) is bean burritos. The kids just like bean and cheese, my husband likes it with seasoned meat, spanish rice, beans and cheese and I load mine up with salsa, lettuce, tomatos, cheese, sour cream and beans. We have spanish rice and a salad on the side.

  • There is not an entree that I make that I do every week but I do rotate my sides. They are always either roasted potatoes, mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, brown rice, pierogies or cheese tortillinis (with butter s+p and fresh grated parm) Every meal has either a veggie, fruit or some sort of side salad as well. There are lots of entrees that I love to make so I change it up a bit- but easy and cheap is chicken parm- pound them out, bread them, pan fry and serve over spaghetti- cheap, good and easy. Like everyone else said my family also loves tacos, cheeseburgers, homemade pizza, italian sausage with green peppers and onions, ham steaks, etc.
  • Tacos

Homemade pizza with: artichokes, sundried tomatoes, turkey pepperoni & cheese

Mini meat loaf in the winter/hamburgers on the grill in the summer.

  • Tacos - blah.  But I do really like Chicken Tacos.  McCormicks makes a good seasoning for it.

  • Meatloaf (check out the cheesy meatloaf recipe on kraftfoods.com... so easy, yet so good!) and baked ziti.
  • Tuesday is breakfast for dinner night.  I can mix it up a little, but it's always breakfast for dinner.  Thursday is soup and sandwich night, usually grilled cheese and tomato soup, but sometimes I mix that up a bit too.
  • Ravioli Casserolle

Layer frozen ravioli, spaghetti sauce and a jar of ricotta. bake at 350 for 30 min. That's it!- it takes 5 min. You can add  layer(s) of ground beef/ pepperoni/ spinach and top with mozzerella/parmesan if you want to be fancy but the basic recipe is sauce, ravioli and ricotta.

  • A roast chicken, some oven fries and some sort of green veggie on the side.
  • meatloaf, some kind of pasta. stir fry, chili,
