Can PAP plead 'baby brain' when we forget things?

OK this post is totally a joke and mainly because I had a GREAT GTKYF question yesterday and am now completely BLANK which is annoying me greatly.  But it also got me thinking.  I was at my aunt's the other day and either said or did something stupid or blanked out or something and she just said 'oh that's ok, you're pregnant'.  It was cute and made me feel good that my extended family sees this journey in such a positive way so I felt like posting it...comments anyone?

  • *sorry, double post!*  I guess we can't delete these anymore?
  • Totally.  :)

Just wait... it gets even worse when the baby really comes!  I have literally forgot things like my age and my birthday before.

    How awesome!

And yes, if we are constantly thinking about the paperwork and calculating timelines in our head, how can we possibly have room for anything else?

  • That is so cute!  It's wonderful that your family is so excited!
  • Mommy brain is totally not a hormonal thing! It's because you're never, ever able to fully concentrate on one thing--part of you it always making sure your child isn't killing themself somehow. Even when they aren't there.
  • Totally- new motherhood for sure affects you - even if it's through adoption.  It's also possible to get post adoption depression (similar to post partum depression).

How cute of your aunt!  And that is awesome to have such a great family backing through your journey.

  • I hope so or else I have no excuse for some of the silly things I do. I know that we had a potential match and during the next couple of days I was a mess....forget where my keys are, forget where I parked, forget what I was talking about....it was pitiful. My thoughts were just so scattered and I truly had a million things going through my head I couldn't keep a hold on any single thought. And my friend said, "You've got pregnancy brain...happens to the best of us." :)

If we can't plead "baby brain" I am in serious, serious trouble. :)
