I'm throwing a small afternoon lunch with some old fgirlriends on Saturday and need some food suggestions. I'm definitely making some stuffed mushrooms and a hot crab dip. But now, I'm at a loss. I'm trying to stay away from gameday food (Buffalo Wing dip, queso, taco dip) and looking for more "sophisticated" apps. Not that I'm sophisticated in any way.

Help!
Re: Appetizer suggestions for get-together??
some crab salad on endive leaves mmmm
shrimp cocktail
baked brie, fruit, & crackers?
Costco makes a fabulour artichoke & jalapeno dip. I toast some of those multigrain crisps they sell & serve them together
Spanakopita & tzatiki sauce (definitely not spelled correctly). You can get both at Costco
I also love the mushroom turnovers from Trader Joes
I used to make all of this myself, but figured you might want the *easy* options with kids! :-)
Water chestnuts wrapped in bacon, yum!
The easiest thing ever is, cream chease, just a block that has softened, place on a place, cover with a can of chili, top with cheese, nuke for a minute and serve with crackers.
caramelized onion tartlets, bacon wrapped water chestnuts, bruschetta, cold beef tenderloin sandwiches on puff pastry with horseradish sauce (so easy!), baked brie, baked brie tartlets with raspberries, curried chicken salad tartlets, mini quiches
I have recipes for pretty much any of those if you want them.

These are yummy and you can cut them into smaller portionshttps://sugarandspice-celeste.blogspot.com/2008/01/chicken-spinach-and-feta-quesadillas.html
These are also very yummy and you can make them up ahead of time. Also I bake them not fry them.https://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Chicken-Taquitos/Detail.aspx
If you want another dip then this is my favorite EVER: https://www.recipezaar.com/Easy-Cheesy-Spinach-and-Bacon-Dip-278454
I've heard great things about these but haven't made them yet: https://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2007/07/bacon-wrapped_j/
