Anyone have a Toyota Corolla and two Snugrides?

I have an '04 Corolla and I'm wondering if I'll be able to fit two Snugride infant car seats in the car for my twins?  Is it tight and hard to get the seats in and out?  TIA!

Re: Anyone have a Toyota Corolla and two Snugrides?

  • we brought two boys home in my 2001 corolla in snugrides. it did NOT work very well. i do not recommend. we had to put the seats all the way forward, and completely upright (our seats, i mean), and right after a c-section...not fun.

it might work slightly better if you didn't use the bases and used the seatbelts to install them instead, but i don't think it's a long-term solution.

and i don't know if 2004 corollas are bigger than 2001 models. maybe so!

  • Hmmm, i got two snugrides in a 08 civic without a problem.  You know what we did, take the car to BRU and talk to someone and test it out in your car.  I think they borrowed some floor models and did it that way.

  • We have a 2000 Corolla. When we installed the snugride behind the passenger, the passenger basically had to eat the dashboard to get it. My DH drives with his seat all the way back and no way is a carseat going behind it. But I know his car was at least one re-design back if not two, so maybe it works better in more recent models.

Ditto the BRU suggestion - they'll put a floor model in your car for you.

  • I have an '09 Corolla and bought 2 Snugrides- I haven't tried them yet, but just from eyeballing it, I think they will fit. That said though, the new '09 Corollas have been redesigned and are bigger than older models. I would see if they would let you test one out.
