Since about November, Blaire has gotten on this weird sleep schedule. We've tried benedryl, we've tried skipping naps, wakig her up early, CIO, nothing works. Pedi is aware, and while it's better, it's not great.
Blaire stays up so late, therefore sleeps later, therefore takes a later nap, and so on and so forth. On the days she refuses a nap, I always foolishly think "tonight will be the night she's in bed by 9:00. NOPE. Pedi suggested benedryl an hour before ideal bedtime, but it has a reverse effect.
Ideally, I'd like her to go to bed at 9:00 ish, sleep till 8-9, and then nap 12:30-2:30 ish. She sleeps those amount of hours, but it's more like bed at midnight, etc....
So yesterday she skipped nap again, but didn't go to bed until almost 12:00 AM. Then, was up at 6:00 this morning. Then, fell back asleep at 9 and slept until 1 this afternoon. Then, she fell asleep in my car at 7:00PM, and din't wake up when I brought her in, so I laid her in the bed and she's been asleep for 3 hours now. Do you think she'll STTN? or am I doomed to be up at 3:00 this morning?
Sorry this was so long.

thanks scuba. good idea about the schedule. we do those things, just never has been a prelude to bedtime. I'll def. try.
Unfortuneately, I faliled to leave out the part where she is in a big girl bed, and I am now in that bed with her. that's the oly way to get her down. when I put her down now, she automatically pats the pillow and says lay down mama. I'm having #2 in 3 weeks. I think we're screwed unless something changes fast.
Pedi did say there was another med that can be given, but he said that's a last resort and wouldn't do it, which was fine, b/c I would rather not medicate.
