sweet potato = red poop?

This is the first time I've ever seen red poop, it scared me, but he had sweet potato for lunch today...Has anybody seen that happen before? He's had sweet potato for a few weeks now and this has never happened.  He also has a bit of diarrhea today

Have you only just started with the solids??  I am only asking because I will then tell you to be prepared - you will get poops of all the color of the rainbows as your child eats a bigger variety of foods!  Its so lovely!

was it homemade or bought?  I make all DS food, and sweet potato is not red/orange it is white, so I am not sure what is happening with your LO, has he had anything else to eat?

 White?? I make DS's food too and when he eats sweet potatoes it comes out like a really dark orangey color, when he eats carrots they are more like a orange/red (still more orange than red though).

My baby's poop is dark orange after eating sweet potato (homemade)...it just looks like mashed sweet potato...yum yum....

It was homemade and it was dark orange / red going in.  I guess I just need to get used to these new colors coming out the other end

It gets really interesting when they eat finger foods. Ew.

But to answer your question, I wouldn't worry.
