We bought our crib today!

We found an awesome deal on a crib and just couldn't pass it up. It is all Beechwood and made in Italy. As soon as I get a picture, I will post. I am so excited about our first real baby purchase.?

i really want the baby miro but i can't feel good about spending 400$ on something baby might not use...  i hear some babies don't even sleep in their cribs (instead they stay in parents bed or portable cribs).

  • Ours is a convertible crib so we will get a lot of use out of it. We couldn't pass up the price. They no longer make the color we bought and it was more that 50% off!
  • Babies who don't sleep in their cribs are allowed to not sleep in their cribs by their parents. You get to decide; lots of parents who co-sleep do so because they want to or they fear their kid won't sleep without them and don't want to do a cry-it-out plan, etc. We're planning to use a bassinet in our room initially but move to the crib at least by the end of 2 mo. if not sooner.

ummm if you teach your baby to sleep in a crib they will..... they dont have a choice... you decide...

  • We are sooooo not to that point yet.  That being said, his parents have graciously offered to buy the crib for our first :)  But still, the "nursery" is still our miscellaneous computer/junk room.

  • I was reading an article on co-sleeping where a lady woke up to find her 2 month old baby screaming bloody murder. They went to the hospital to find that either her or hubby had rolled over and bruised ribs, and broken one of new baby's arms.?

Needless to say I will be using a basinett, until a couple months old to move into the crib. ?

That is the exact thing we did with our son and it worked like a charm...he was born the day b4 halloween and so new years he was 8 weeks...and made his first resolution to sleep in the crib...life changing day!! aahha...but it was sad to say good bye to the bassinet =)

  • oh, ya. Congrats on getting your crib too. Can't wait to go shopping for ours!!

  • That's so exciting!  DH and I might be getting ours this weekend.  He found a great deal on craigslist for a nearly-new, really nice convertible crib with mattress.
