DH and I officially decided to stop TTC for a while

It was such a difficult decision.  My therapist and I have been talking a lot about how just the simple act of not taking my temperature has stopped my obsessive thinking about TTC, and DH and I agreed that we should stop trying for a while so we can take a break and get back on track with each other.  We don't have a set period of time in mind, but I'm thinking it will be in the 4-6 month range.  At that point, we can begin trying again and pursue fertility testing if we want.  I am starting Weight Watchers on Saturday and plan to use this time to get healthy and start working out.  I will still be hanging out on this board though, because I love you ladies and I want to be around to see all the BFPs!

I know that's gotta be a tough decision, but it's for sure worth it. Have fun and GL.

I just noticed in an earlier post that you're a Metro Detroiter!  I was going to ask you where you're from.  Unfortunately, Grosse Pointe is a bit of a hike for me.  I'm in Livonia.  I wish we were closer, I would love to be able to meet up a few times a week to work out!

Hey Katie!  I wish you the best of luck during your break.  I too need to get healthier and start working on it... I need a jump start to get me motivated enough to do it though...

But hey - you are still in the 2ww right?  So if you are PG this cycle, you won't need to take the break anyway!

I was totally planning on doing the same thing if I didn't get my BFP....I hope the same thing happens to you!  If not, I think a break is a great idea and a lot of the time you get KU when you finally relax and just let it happen.  I wish you the best

I am REALLY hoping!  I'm not feeling like I am pg, but you never know!  I'm more hopeful for you!

A break is good sometimes, it takes courage to go for it though. So good for you. I'm kinda relieved that I'm forced to take one for a while too, I feel more relaxed now and not driving myself crazy as much. I wish you all the luck hon and I'm glad you are sticking around

Like the pp's said, good for you for taking a brave step.  Good luck with the break... I hope you find that it helps you.  I have been patiently waiting to TTC again after my miscarriage... I'm going to start in April, I think.  I've been training for a 1/2 marathon... I cannot tell you how great I feel and how much it is helping me.  I really feel stronger physically and emotionally and I tear up when I think of actually finishing this race.  Running is very therapeutic, and 4-6 months would be a perfect amount of time to train, even if you're not a runner right now.  If you're interested in this idea at all and want to contact me, please do.  My blog is also mostly about my training, so you can check that out if you want.  Good luck!  Oh, one more thing, the training is helping to keep my mind off TTC.  Okay, that's it!  GL!

I really admire this decision you have made. I honestly know I am terrified to take a break. I am sure if I get a BFN this month, we may have that talk as well.
