OY...So I lost my temper at the grocery store.

Ok so yesterday the boys are finally feeling a bit better after this yucky cold so I wanted to get to the grocery store. They are now big enough to sit up in the grocery carts but i need the special ones that can fit two kids in at the same time....

So as I get out of the car I see there are none in the cart return so I ask the bag boy to please go in and get me one...I at this point have two wiggling babies in my arms, plus a diaper bag and all the door open on the truck and the bag boy is nowhere to be found. I am not kidding you I stood there for almost 5 minutes waiting for this kid. Finally I figured out how to close the doors, lock the truck and carry two squirming babies into the store. I saw the kid inside the store and FLIPPED OUT! Seriously everyone turned around and looked :/ Omg I was beyond pissed because I had to put them in the cart without wiping it down first, carrry them in and NOT A SINGLE PERSON ASKED IF THEY COULD HELP! They all just stared.

The manager was beyond pissed at the bag boy and I saw him get yanked into the office and then the manager tracked me down in the store and appoligized for 5 mintues. I am always at this store. My blood is still boiling.

Then the stupid bagboy makes it worse for himself when he come to "appoligize" to me he says well i had to help my friend with something first..ummm dude I have 45 lb of baby in my arms and you are working and this is part of your job...byebye.

ahhhhhh. sorry I have had enough of ppl just being so oblivious.

  • So is it wrong that I giggled a little to picture you going off on this idiot bag boy? Wink

But, really, what an idiot!  I am glad the manager acted the way he did and knew how serious it was.

    Deep breath...

  • oh you can giggle because i can only imagine what I must have looked and sounded like :)

  • I would have lost my temper too.  I'm sorry the bagboy is a douch bag.

I have also received stares instead of help from people when trying to go into a store with my girls.  Holding a door open while pushing a double stroller requires "stretch armstrong" body parts.  I guess chivalry is dead.

  • Good for you and what an idiot kid!  I'm glad the manager reacted the way he did!
  • Kids are not raised the way they used to be.  My sisters and I would have gotten in trouble if we saw you and didn't offer to help.  We were raised to help anyone that you can.  I would have went off on him too!
  • I was called to jury duty when the twins were under a year old - and I had to bring my twins (long story).  Can you believe that out of tons of people who had to show up - only females offered to help me.  They held the door for me, one offered to hold the baby for me.   The men (many in suits) either ignored me or looked at me like they were embarrased for me.
  • Sorry!! I just re-read my post and didn't realize it sounded like I was trying to top off your post.

What I meant to say was - I can totally relate and that good manners must no longer be taught.

  • Sorry that happened to you...that is so frustrating! I freaked out at the pedi office one like that. I had screaming baby in my arms and was trying to push the double stroller into the office. The assitant chick just stood there and watched me as I was trying to steer the damn stroller with one had while a baby was screaming in my ear. She just stood there. I said, "Is it outside of your job description to help me!"
  • good for the manager - it is a visual, you w/ your hands full :)
