how to help with head bobble in carseat

We have a baby trend car seat, and it doesn't exaclty come with the infant feature head bobble deal.

We have a thin one that can go into a car seat...its one of those roll things so her head won't slide back and forth.

So that helps a little, but what about flopping fowards?  I sit in the back with her when DH drives, but tomorrow *gulp!* i'm taking her by myself to the OB office so can't sit with her.   When she falls asleep, her head typically flops forward, or way to one side of her (looks like she has no neck lol)

Check the angle of the seat, it should be at a 45 degree angle.  The babies head should not be flopping forward if the seat is installed correctly.  Check with your local police or fire station to see if they do carseat inspections.

I also have the baby trend carseat and have the double roll insert thing for his head. His head doesn't flop forward much though. Is your seat on the base and at the right incline?

the red dot isn't showing in the level thingy, but i'm going to see if DH can go park the car in the road where its flatter and check it again.  it seems that it sits kinda high, so maybe it is slightly off.

Ditto.  This is probably why your LO's head is flopping forward.  When we brought the car seat to get checked out at the fire station, it tilted too much toward the back of the car (only in my car - Subaru Outback wagon). The fireman place some super high density foam things under the base to level out the seat.  We have a Graco SnugRide and there's a level meter thing on the side to let you know if it's installed at the correct angle.

I have the baby trend as well; his head shouldn't fall forward if the angle is correct.?

The "level thingy" isn't always accurate because they sometime stick or if the car is not parked on a level service they may not be accurate.  Does it look like its at a 45 degree angle??

now that i think about it i'm not honeslty sure... i just asked DH to go out in the pitch black and park the car in the dark road to check the level lol.  he gave me a weird look, and i said we have flashlights.

ok so DH just went and checked and he said the base is tilted as much as it can be so he can't adjust it any further.

I'll call one of the saftey inspection places and have them take a peek.  or shove something under the part towards the back of the car to raise it up a bit.  ack

Please get it checked ASAP....  If your babies head tips forward it will close off the airway and can sufficate your baby.  It is so important that the seat is at the right angle to prevent tragedy.  You can put something under the part of the base near the seatback to lift it up a bit to correct the angle, just be sure the base is secured tightly.   Getting it checked by a fitting station is the best option, it is free and only takes a few minutes.
