Eh, somehwere in between. I briefly dated a guy whose last name was Sniffin and my dad had a field day with it, saying that if we ever had a boy, we could name him Griffin Sniffin. LOL. So, that's what I think of when I hear the name. Sorry! Stick out tongue

ahaha... well, i obviously love it (see my siggy and you'll understand!)

we watch family guy all the time and it doesn't even make us think of the show- we just liked the name... and the NN Griff.

we get comments all the time from people about how much they love his name... but personally i don't give two sh!ts what other people think of my kid's names - only DH and I have to like them

i dislike it spelled "Griffen", though.

i LOVE that name (could never use it because it is my 16 yr old brother's name).

For my bro growing up- everyone comments on how 'cool' of a name it is (although i think when he was 8 or 9 it was painful because people would say Gryffindor like in harry potter)

LOL it's the family's last name and they always call the dad Griffin. I personally hate the show but DH Tivo's it and I always hear him watching it. It's very vulgar.

I love Family Guy (I watch the reruns daily), but that really wasn't the first thing I thought of. I thought of the mythological creature first, then Griffin and Sabine, then Family Guy (after reading the responses). Funny how the thing that's given me the most exposure to the name is the last thing I think of with it.

Love it. I love the mythological reference, hate the family guy reference. If DD was a boy, she would have been Griffin Parker. (We momentarily thought of Griffin Peter, bc that's DH's Dad's middle name. But then, given Family Guy's Peter Griffin, we decided no way.)

I am 90% sure this guy is going to be Maxwell Griffin. I like it!
