ugh, I see a recipe and I just see sooo much work and so many products I don't own. I do cook about 4x's a week but I hate it and I never eat it. I pretty much cook for B.
I hate it too. Everything I make in this house takes less than 5 ingredients and less than 20 minutes. I just hate all the prep and all the clean up. I love watching the cooking shows and if there was someone here who would measure everything out and put it all in those tiny bowls for me maybe I would fee different.
The funny part is that my dad is a chef. Go figure.
Hate it! And if I cook, I don't eat it. Something about the whole process turns me off and I won't eat it. I used to like to cook...until I had a child and became busy parenting him. Cooking requires a certain amount of clean up too which I despise!
I actually love to cook, but I never do becasue between working FT and dd there is just no time. DH gets home earlier so he cooks dinner. I bake alot with dd at night. She loves it...she has her own apron and chef tools. I want to make sure she can cook when she is older.
Me. I'd rather clean the bathrooms. I can cook OK, but it's such an effort sometimes and I really lack creativity. Joe is so good at cooking and he loves it. The weekends are the best because I often don't cook at all.
I hate cooking! I hate figuring out what to make, chopping stuff, all of it. It doesn't help that DH is very picky (moreso than DD sometimes!) so it's just not worth the effort to make something to have him later complain about it.
bellisimo, same here. I make entire meals and never touch it and eat cereal after B goes to bed. It turns me off too. Plus, once I'm done and she's eating, I just want to get finished with the clean up.
mlm I think part of why I DO cook (other than feeding her), is doing it with B. I want her to see it and be a part of it with me.
I think i hate it b/c I am not good at it...last night I asked the hubs if i should cook his salmon a certain way, and he said...oh...I'll do it, you don;t have to cook. and I asked if he thought i would ruin it, and he said that salmon was a little tricky, was all...
Honestly, some of my best memoroes with my grandmother (on my dads side) and my mom involve cooking, and I want Maddie to have that too. My mom likes to have her "help" with Sunday dinner every week to. Her mother never cooked, so she taught herself when she was 12 and started making family dinners.
ditto Viva on cleaning the bathroom and ditto BOF on not being very good at it
and mlm, thats exactly why I do it. My mom never did and I agree its a nice memory to keep. My DD really loves helping me and loves telling Daddy what she made.

boo.
I can't cook.... and that's why I think I hate it.
I rarely make anything that requires more than 4 ingredients
