Creepy or Overreacting Re FIL

My IL's are a little strange. I try not to see them that much but my FIL is sick and won't see DD for a while so I went down for a visit. While we were there my FIL mentioned he would like to take pics of DD naked while on a bear skin rug. I have no probs with babies being naked but I think its the rugh part that skeeved me out. It reminds me of somthing out of Playboy or somthing. Tell me I am just being a nervous first time mom.

Maybe he wants the baby on something nice and soft and that's what he has always pictured as the ultimate in "nice and soft"?

My grandpa is an avid hunter and my mom took pictures of both my brother and I on his bear skin rug,  I wouldn't worry too much.

Really? This request is strange even with that explanation.

I'm hoping he just misspoke. The phrase would have weirded me out too though.

I can see why he sounded creepy but I doubt he meant it that way...Maybe it's an older person thing?  I was showing the pic below to some co-workers and a couple of them that have grandchildren made similar comments about taking pix of their own naked kids/grandkids, including the bear skin rug!

To the rest find it creepy - are we in agreement that the actual request and possibly how it was worded is what is creepy? If mom wants to take those pics because grandpa likes hunting, that seems a little different to me.

It's all about context ... I mean, just about every set of professional photos I have seen include baby (either naked or in a diaper) on a really fuzzy rug or blanket.  My DD's newborn shots had some of these.  Maybe FIL is trying to recreate a cool shot he saw of another baby?  Is he into photography at all or is this request just out of the blue?
