Hi Everyone,
Please bear with me, I am new to this. I was suppose to get my period on the 21 of February and missed it therefore I took a pregancy test this past Sunday and it it came out werid. It was EPT (find out 5 days before your missed period). Well the line came in as being pregant but one of the lines was faint. I am planning on taking an other test which I have a great feeling that's going to be postive but I have a bunch of questions.
Question 1-I have my yearly physical exam with my doctor on Monday March 9th...If I am prego should I go sooner or should I just wait till then. Its only a week and a half away from today. Question 2- I am not taking pre-nat pills should I start or should I wait to go to my doctor appointment? Question 3- What will exactly happen at the doctor appointment if I am prego? Does the doctor send me to another doctor to find out how far I am long? Question 4-When did you tell everyone you were prego? The only people who know is my husband and my best friend and i'm dyeing to tell my mom but kind of want to surprise her.
Girls...I am so nervous about the whole prego thing...I'm excited but at the same time very very nerous and sometime thinks I'm not ready for this. My husband & I just got married this past July and I didn't except to get prego until after our first anniversary. My husband is happy about this and has been wanting kids since we first got married so that's not a problem. It's just a shock to me that I might me prego. I figure I am already 30 and should have a baby already but its still is scary. Your whole changes once you find out your prego....you have to watch what you eat, drink, and do. How did you girls feel when you first got prego with your first baby?
Re: What to do?
::Makes some noodles to go with the prego::
1) Tell them you're PREGNANT and they'll change the appointment as needed.
2) Take PNVs
3) They'll make you pee and possibly take blood. They'll date the pregnancy later usually. But they may ask you a ton of health questions.
4) Whenever you feel is right.
Good Luck!

Call your Dr and let them know you had a positive pregnancy test. They probably will just have you talk to the dr about it at your scheduled appt though.
START TAKING VITAMINS NOW! Just get an over the counter brand.
Your Dr will confirm your pregnancy and probably take some blood at your first appt.
tips for 1st tri posting:
do not say prego, preggo, preggers, etc... pg ior k/u are the only acceptable abbreviations
take your PNV's-for the love of God it's not kryptonite and there is not a bomb that will blow up if you take them before you get a BFP
there's no fishing on this board
put on a flame retardant suit-you're going to get blasted
But seriously... call your doc today, and they will handle the rest. Ask the nurse (who knows way more about this than we do) these questions and they'll be able to help you.
In short: call your doc and ask them these questions.
disclaimer: BearKat's victim was not the result of PNVs.
1 - Find out if you are pregnant for sure (take another test) before worrying about all the other stuff.
2 - Please don't use "Preggo" like 20 times on one post
me too...I couldn't help giggling, but ew!
*PGAL/PAL Welcome*
My Ovulation Chart
Pregnant not prego.....you are 30 not 18 lady.
CALL YOUR DR! and yes go buy OTC prenatels if you are to scared or whatever to call your dr and ask for a script.
Bahahwahahaha - same here. I made it through the first 2 sentences.
Sh!t
1.I would go to your originally scheduled appointment. If there was a faint line most likely you are pregnant, but wait a couple of days and take another test, the results should be the same.
2.It's never to soon to take prenatals. Before getting pregnant was even a thought in my mind I went to HEB to buy them for my hair and nails. They won't hurt you if your not pregnant. Most docs will prescribe your prenatals if you are pregnant though.
3. At my first doc's visit they did a confirmatory pregnancy test, set up my chart, prescribed prenatals and tried to do a sonogram but I was to early on. The next appointment I have they will do all the lab test and pelvic/breast exams.
4.Your doc might have to send you somewhere else if hes not a OBGYN (not all doctors are licensed to deliver babies). It depends on your doc.
5.My FI and I were getting married in August 09' but considering we're pregnant we decided to let everyone know early since we were going to move the wedding up to April 09'. Don't feel bad about the anniversary thing, I'm not even technically married yet.
6.This is my first baby, I'm finishing my undergrad, and planning a wedding so I was nervous, excited and I didn't want to get my hope up at first just in case I was disappointed later. My family and his family have all been so supportive so I'm happy now.
1. Most likely you will have to wait for your appointment anyway. I would call and set one up for the 9th as that is only a few days away.
2. You can wait until your doctor's appointment but if you would like to start early, there are a lot of prenatal vitamins available over the counter that do the same thing. You can ask a pharmacist.
3. At the doctor's appointment, they will take blood. The blood test will confirm pregnancy. If this doctor is not an OB you will need to find one. They can most likely refer a doctor to you. At your first OB appointment there will be more blood tests, a weigh-in, some medical history questions, and you may or may not get an ultrasound.
4. Generally, you would tell those that you feel comfortable telling in the event that something bad happens. We told our immediate family right away because if we did miscarry, I would want their support.
Good luck and congrats!
Oh and as for feeling nervous, its totally normal. I did too. I think my exact words to my mom when I called after my positive test was "OMG what did I just get myself into." The journey is long and full of ups/downs but its a fun one!
If you are PG, then congrats. 1) Take another test, keep your appt. but call your OB. You can ask him/her these same questions. Your OB may not take you before your scheduled appt anyway. 2) Take PNV, some ladies take it months before BFP. 3) by Dr. do you mean OB or general practitioner? You will need to make an appt with your OB. But if a regular internist- they can give you a PG test either blood or urine. 4) Tell people when you feel ready. We're all nervous and excited but PLEASE READ previous posts before you post- you may learn some things. Also grab some PG books to read for your info.GL!

This is exactly how I feel!
Seriously grow up. You are PREGNANT not a brand of sauce!
Watch out Ladies the 2nd Tri Snark Police are on the scene. They look DOWN on snark or those who snark... apparently they are too evolved for it and find it distasteful in their second Tri while filled with puppies and rainbows and ideas for nurseries.
Of course, once they are bloated, swollen, over due and can't find a comfortable sitting or sleeping position - they will get their snark back - but unfortunately we have to wait for 3rd Tri for that to happen.?
