I am 10 weeks and 3 days and I can't find the baby's hb with the doppler, i know I shouldn't freak out but I can't help it. my next appt. is not until march 10th. I was almost in tears this morning with that doppler.
thanks ladies for letting me vent.
Re: Put my mind at ease please....
This is why I will never, ever, ever buy a doppler.
The baby is small. That's why you can't find it yourself right now. Put the doppler away and relax.
I think it depends - I've been listening to mine since week 9. But there are tricks: make sure you have a full bladder (very important), not a full stomach (digestion is loud), and that your stomach is as flat as possible (i like to lay on on the bed with my feet on the floor). also, use a lot, so it seems like too much, gel and remember, the baby is probably very low. and move the doppler slowly, you baby is probably bouncing around and it makes it harder to find. it definitely takes a bit of patience.
good luck!
Sometimes it still takes me a really long time to find the heart beat, and I'm almost 12 weeks. My doctor couldn't find it at 10 weeks, 6 days.
Stop worrying!!! Have someone hide that doppler from you and don't try again for at least a week.
Ditto. You're not doing yourself any favors by worrying over it. Ditch the doppler and enjoy the ride!
I went to the dr on Monday and he couldnt get the heartbeat thru his doppler and I was 10.5 weeks. He was not concerned in the slightest.
When I go back on the 10th, if he can't hear it then, I get another ultrasound...but he said its common for a heartbeat to be hard to locate at 10 weeks....
So don't worry, It will be okay
It took me a few days to find the babys HB with mine and I was almost 12 weeks. Don't stress about it.
ditto. at my appt i was almost 10 weeks and it took them FOREVER to find the HB. even then, it was sooooo faint that i could barely hear it (and as this is my 2nd PG, i knew what i was listening for).
relax, eveything is probably fine!
my doc told me at 11w 2d that she might not be able to find it on the doppler. it did take her a while and she's a professional. it was right after she had done an ultrasound so I wasn't worried, but she said that is why she does the ultrasound first at 11-12 weeks. She doesn't like to freak out women by searching for the hb.
try not to worry about it too much.
