Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Cheese for 1 year old

What type of cheese do you feed your 1 year old, we were told only whole milk cheeses?  Also, what other foods have you introduced?

  • So far she's had (and loves) cheddar, swiss, cream cheese,?gruyere?and?Monterey?jack.

  • At one year we did mozz, american, queso fresco, pretty mush let her try anything we ate if it was pasturized. She does not like any of it!

    She loves/ed veggies the most and fruit second. Chicken was and still is a fav of hers.

  • DD has had & loves several types of cheddar, mozzarella, jack, colby-jack, American cheese and the little Babybel semi-soft cheeses.?

    As far as food, I think it's more a question of what we haven't introduced at this point than what we have. She eats pretty much anything we do, with a few exceptions like strawberries and super-spicy stuff. ?

  • They've had almost every type of cheese that I can think of. Their favorites are mild organic white cheddar, colby jack, provolone, and goat cheese.

    I recently introduced peanut butter and honey. They have had pretty much every fruit now. Actually, the only thing that they do not eat is meat of any kind. I will introduce meat at age 2.

  • He eats any kind of cheese - it seems like he especially likes stronger-tasting ones (like aged cheddar, goat cheeses, gruyere. Babies/toddlers should always eat whole-fat dairy products.

    We offer him whatever we're eating, but he hasn't had peanut butter, honey, most meat or straight-up cow's milk yet, but most of that is due to laziness on our part and pickiness on his...
