1st Trimester

Is this morning sickness??

Or some other weird pregnancy symptom? ha, I feel ridiculous asking this.. ;) My first pregnancy was so uneventful and easy. I wouldn't have even known I was PG until I started showing if it hadn't been for the + test and the u/s!

The past 2 days I keep suddenly feeling absolutely ravenous, and then immediately after I feel nauseated until I eat something (as fast as I possibly can!). It happens at random times throughout the day and not necessarily if I haven't eaten in a while either.. like first thing in the morning after I get up, an hour after breakfast today, 2 hours after dinner...

So is that what m/s is like? It sure does suck! :( Looks like this pregnancy may not be quit as easy as w/ DD....  It's amazing how different pregnancy can be from time to time and person to person!

  • I get like that too. It's like you must eat NOW or you will get sick. Sounds like the beginning of M/S. I hope it doesn't get bad for you and this is the worst it gets. (I'm secretly wishing you get awful m/s so you can feel my pain) Good luck!

  • I was super hungry the first 5-7 weeks and then the m/s came around week 8.  I'm not as hungry now though eating helps the queasy feeling.  I'm hoping this will go away in a couple of weeks :)
  • That has been my m/s experience! ?I just don't puke - I just get super nauseated, and then I'm starving.

And the books tell you that it goes away - lies - I know a lady whose m/s came back at 7 months.?

  • i know this is going to sound crazy but i'm dying for M/S to start.  I'm 5 weeks 1 day pregnant and sadly this is the farthest i've made it in a pregnancy.

I want something to remind me or reassure me that I'm pregnant.  Although it's not always indicative of a healthy pregnancy - I just have no symptoms.  The other day I was in a depressed funk but that's all.

before i got AF i was moody and nauseated, then it stopped.  I thought for sure I was having another CP when i got the BFP but my levels continue to rise.  I asked the RE why i don't have symptoms and she said that while it's not true for EVERYONE , 5K+ beta is the magic number.  That usually puts most singleton pregnancies at 6 weeks.

I'm the crazy lady who wants M/SStick out tongue

  • LOL Sam, thanks a lot! ;) I have a friend who had horrible m/s for 6 months. I know I don't want that!

word, I used to think it was crazy to want m/s for that reason.. but my last pregnancy I had 2 u/s early on to make sure everything was ok.. so I didn't need any other "proof". I kind of get it now... I really really don't want m/s, but it would be kind of reassuring.. I'm sorry you've had to go through past m/c. Hoping for a sticky baby for you this time! :)

bim, your kind words mean alot.  Thank you for 'rootin' for me.  I really need it...Embarrassed

  • Thats how my m/s I would try eating every 2 hours even if you arent hungry.  If your stomach gets to empty it can make you feel sick.  First thing in the morning can be really bad because you havent eaten anything all night, so if you get up to go pee eat some crackers or dry cereal.  Hope this helps.
  • I had that last week except I would be ravenously hungry, eat too much and then be nauseous.  This week I am just REALLY nauseous and it comes in intense waves all day long.  I have no desire to ever eat or drink again. I don't remember it being this bad last time......
  • Sounds like a light version to me.  I hope it doesn't get worse... mine hit last time at 8 wks so I am holding my breath waiting right now.

  • Yes, that would be m/s.  Even now at 17wks, if I don't eat often the nausea comes.  The random waves of nausea when I'm not even hungry have subsided, thank God!

  • Any time you feel sick - any time of day - that could be m/s. And it can come and go or get worse then better. Please know that having m/s or not or any variation of it is no guarantee that you have a healthy or unhealthy pregnancy, despite what others may say to you.

I gained 13 lb the first tri when I was pregnant with DD because I ate so much so that I wouldn't feel sick. I would even get up in the middle of the night to eat a bowl of cereal or two! I'm trying not to do that this time around and trying to eat much healthier, but if it happens, it happens.

  • I have been HORRIBLY sick all day for the last few days then my best friend said to try drinking ginger tea as soon as I get up int he morning and that has seemed to work for the last two days; hopefully it will keep it under control because I've not been able to do anything but lie in bed and feel like death would be welcomed
