when can you see something on the u/s?

So as a f/u to my post below--when does something show up on a u/--I had one with DS at 6 weeks and we could see his heart beating.  But i would be about 4.5 weeks now and as I mentioned nothing showed up on the u/s last night . . .

sorry about your experience with the nurse. ?I believe you should see a sack, but you wouldn't see anything else yet. ?Of course, if the hospital was shitty all around, they may not have looked hard enough.

I'm pretty sure that 5 weeks is when they can see the yolk sac, you might be close enough to see that if you are pg.

At around 6wks we saw an egg sack and fetal pole, but OB was unable to date the pregnancy at that point.  At my f/u appointment a week later we saw a heartbeat, and the pregnancy was dated 7wks, 4days.

It might still be too early to see anything. I had a u/s a little past 4 weeks and saw nothing, and then had a follow up two weeks later and saw the little heart flickering away.
