Anyone not really worried about STTN?

It seems like there are constantly posts about ways to get LOs to STTN.  Is anyone not really worried about it?  Of course, I'd love to sleep more than 3 hours in a row but at this point (and, yes, I know kiddo isn't that old yet so I may later eat my words) I'm not really bothered by how he sleeps. So I have no intention of doing any sort of sleep training - we don't even have a bedtime routine really.

Anyone else?

  • Give it time... I'm sure it will bother you if he still isn't sttn (and not even close) at almost 6m Wink

  • I'd love to sleep longer than 3-4 hours at a time, but I'm over trying to find the "magical solution".  Ds will sleep the night when he's developmentally ready.  Right now he goes down for naps and for bed like a dream and goes back to sleep in the middle of the night right after nursing.  I'll take that for a while longer.
  • We started a bedtime routine, but that's mostly for our sanity and to give us some quality time at night.  DD has already started STTN a few times so I'm not worried about her doing it later on.

  • i was like that. now that i've had a couple long stretches of sleep with DS, i wish it would be a regular occurrence. (and i was always a tad bitter towards those who had better sleepers)
  • I wasn't worried about it until he STTN for about a month on his own w/ no help from us, and then suddenly decided to wake up screaming every 2hrs. ?So, now we're sleep training (although, not very rigidly).

  • I wasn't until last week when my aunt mentioned that I will be going back to work soon and how I would need to get more sleep, that got me moving, at least trying to get a routine down.
  • Of course it would be WONDERFUL to sleep longer than 2-3 hours at a time, but I figure the time will come.  We have a nightime routine but it is something we just fell into! I am not forcing the issue, people keep telling me to put things in her bottle and really i feel like at some point she will have to sleep at night, so I will be patient!  Even if she were to sleep through the night, I would have bricks for tits in the morning so I am kind of glad she doesnt right now!

    This is SO us.

And no I wouldn't really mind if I didn't have to work.  I would just sleep whenever he slept, like I did when I was on mat leave, and I would eventually get enough sleep in.  But when you have to wake up at 6 to go to work, it is hard not getting sleep day after day.  I am a zombie at work a lot & by the end of the week with no sleep I can barely function.

  • You're cute.

And babies/kids thrive on routine, so I'd suggest getting one in place asap.
