I went to my GP yesterday for blood tests and to get a referral for my OB. He said he wanted to see me later this week for the results of the tests and then wanted to do an u/s next week, which I TOTALLY wasn't expecting. I guess that solves my 'should I pay for one?' dilemma.
Anywho, I will be somewhere around 7 weeks, depending on what day we schedule it. I know that seeing the h/b can be iffy at 6 weeks, but what about 7? I just want to be prepared to maybe not see it yet so I don't freak out and think something is wrong again.
Re: Can you always see the h/b at 7 weeks?
i don't know about always because i'm sure some people haven't- but we were able to see it at 7 weeks. also my RE said it's common that you should be able to by then.
good luck!

I had my first u/s at 6 wks and all I could make out was the little flickering heart, it was too small to hear but the little bugger was beating at 80bpm I had another u/s for med reasons 2 wks later and I heard it it was at 171bpm by then and so cute. It is so amazing seeing that little heart beat and hearing the sound.
I've heard a full bladder helps too. GL!
We saw ours today at 6w 6d.
It was beating, clear as day!! 120 bpm. It was a beautiful sight. I'm sure you'll see something at your appointment!
