Back from 2nd appointment!

So DH and I went to our 2nd appointment this morning.  I was a little nervous because at our first appointment it was too soon to hear a heartbeat with the doppler so this would be our first time hearing the heartbeat.  The doctor had trouble with finding the heartbeat, so she ended up sending us down to get an U/S.  She said she wasn't concerned because my ute is measure about 16 wks (even though I am almost 13) and that is a good sign that the baby is there and just doesn't want to cooperate.  Then she said, "It might be twins" we have thought might be possible (very low probability though).  Anyway, they were able to squeeze us in for the U/S and as soon as DH said he saw the baby I started to cry :-)  Such a relief!  Then we were able to hear the heartbeat and see the baby doing little flips.  Although I am a little glad that we got to actually see the baby, it is amazing how many worries went through my head in the 10 min it took to get us in for the U/S.  Sorry the post is so long, but I just had to share my happy ending!

what else happened during the appt?  Everyone always asks about the first, now that I have that one done, I'd like to hear about the 2nd appt, our first one was at 7.5 weeks, second one will be 11.5 weeks same way as you no HB first appt, but were told we would hear it at 2nd one...what else happened though?

That's great to hear! ?I'm having my 2nd appt. on Thursday - I'll be a lot less stressed once I can hear/see the heartbeat.

I have a second appt. next week. It can be a little nerve racking. I had a little bit of spotting so my doctor wanted me to come in early for the second appt. but I am nervous that if she can't get a heartbeat it might freak me out.?

Congrats to you. It's wonderful to not only hear the heartbeat but to see your baby!! how wonderful. ?

They went over some blood work and did the belly check (with the doppler).  That was it.

I had my second appt. today too and I got to see the baby and see the hearbeat. (no doppler yet). the doctor measure the baby as being smaller than we had thought so I am really only 9w2d which seems like such a step back from where I thought I was at 11w1d.
